LS Designs....Business Cards Take One

My new business cards just came in and I'm thankful I only ordered one set because I don't love them as much as I did when I first designed them.  I think the chandelier has to go (*GASP).  I love chandeliers and think they can belong just about anywhere but it just might not be for this.

Ollie loves them though.  To snack on; my bunny rabbit loves to eat paper....

Zia's Art, Antiques, and Flowers by an Italian Aunty

Near the Green Hills Mall sits a welcoming store front, Zia's.  Zia is Italian for "aunt" and it fits not only the store but the adorable owner and florist, Karen Rippy, who decorates and maintains her shop.

My love of teals and browns can most likely be equated to the chocolate brown dutch colonial I grew up in on a quiet, tree lined street in New England.  My mother painted the door turquoise and it's an unusual thing to see but evokes an indescribable feeling in me.  Nothing has ever felt quite like home since 13 Church Street and this store front is a sweet reminder of those simpler days.   Inside the turquoise door is an array of home decor; mirrors, rugs, signs, and homey knick knacks.  I love everything about this shabby chic mantle.

I would love to hang this wreathe on the side of a backyard shed, front door, or gate.

As you walk through the store and come to the back you see a florist's shop, making this little stop even better!

Zia's has been featured in Nashville Lifestyles Weddings Magazines and as a newbie in the Nashville Wedding scene, owner, Karen Rippy, has been welcoming, sweet, and generous.  She is truly the meaning of a Zia.

I've fallen in love.....

I just fell in love with a curtain.  It's way more than I want to spend and it's also not the color I'm looking for but I am mentally redoing the entire place in a different color scheme based on this curtain from hpd (half priced drapes).

She's beautiful...just beautiful!  I feel like the prince when he set eyes on Cinderella.  Here's a better shot for you to get the overall feeling it would give a room:

Coming back down to reality....I just ordered a swatch of this:

It will have a similar feeling but at a much more reasonable price.  If the sky-blue were the limit, I would be ordering this and having it custom made into the ruched curtain above:

Sweet dreams!  I'm off to dream about curtains and bedspreads.

Red & Turqoise

I would love to plan a red and turquoise wedding.  Turquoise/teal/aqua is my favorite color (right now) and I love how red compliments it.  My inspiration board:

Calisha & Ivan...FIRST PICS

Calisha Brooks & Ivan Rattliff were married yesterday, Sunday, September 5th, 2010 at the Fisk University Chapel with a reception following at the Hermitage Hotel.  Calisha's dress was gorgeous and Calisha in the dress was drop-dead!  My favorite part of the entire day, however, may have been Ivan waiting for Calisha's arrival with his tux on getting his hair did.  That's right.  He took fresh and clean to a whole new level as he relaxed in a chair outside the chapel and his barber went to work, who was also dressed for a wedding, btw.  Cannot WAIT to for the photographer's pictures!
